Pittwater Life: Once or twice a day, animal lover Madeleine Barbouttis heads down to her favourite small beach on the Pittwater side of Newport. She loves to be in nature and be surrounded by wildlife.
But one afternoon shortly after Christmas she made a distressing discovery.
“It was high tide and I noticed this huge thing close to the shore in the water,” she said. “I walked over and saw it was a turtle, which amazed me. But then as I got closer I could clearly see it was dead and had suffered as result of a boat propellor.
