“I’m proud to turbocharge the incredible work of P & Cs with advocacy and funding, to ensure we continue investing in local schools,” said Ms Scruby. “Investing is one of the most powerful ways to support families and young people.”
Ms Scruby has just announced over $200,000 in new grants for local schools through the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program.
These include $100,000 for Avalon Public School and $100,000 for Narrabeen Sports High School to upgrade facilities that they will share with the community and support students – including during HSC Exams. Other grants for local schools including Terrey Hills Public School, Elanora Heights Public School and Barrenjoey High will deliver facilities such as shade sails and playground improvements.
Alongside these grants, Ms Scruby also celebrated the announcement earlier this year for Pittwater High upgrades and that Narrabeen Sports High School will receive its first dedicated Performing Arts Hall. The new facility will provide a performance space for up to 500 students, with purpose-built areas for music, dance and creative arts – marking the first time the school has had a dedicated venue for the arts.
