Pittwater Life: June was a huge month of momentum for local non-profit Friends of Bongin Bongin Bay, who received a Community Recognition Statement from NSW Parliament, presented by Jacqui Scruby MP, for their collaborative work on Custodians of the Ocean.
The dynamic marine education program, co-created by Beata Edling and Pia Dorer, and adapted from the Department of Primary Industries' Marine Estate Strategy, continued in Term Two at St Luke's Grammar. Students explored ocean users, plastics and marine protection, then took part in a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony at Mona Vale Beach, followed by a hands-on beach clean-up led by Surfrider's Jude Furniss...
