Bravo Minister for Mona Vale Rd

Pittwater Life: She dubbed herself the ‘Minister for Mona Vale Road' - now Independent Pittwater MP Jacqui Scruby can almost add that title to her Linkedln account following the Minns Labor Government's $250 million budget allocation to kickstart the stalled West section upgrade.

Almost - because even Ms Scruby admits the proof of the pudding is in the eating; that is, getting the road delivered/ operational.

As she says, it's unlikely we will be driving on four lanes between Ingleside and Terrey Hills before 2030.

Ms Scruby is on the record as saying her stewardship of Pittwater would be judged by her ability to negotiate an outcome on Mona Vale Road. Tick.

Further, she acknowledges its chequered history - that the Labor Government withdrew7 funding for the project, after the former Coalition Government completed the Eastern upgrade and had the funds for the West costed and budgeted.

And she paid credit to former Pittwater MP Rob Stokes for delivering the East upgrade.

There was more good news in the Government's Budget, with almost $7 million to build a new synthetic running track at the Narrabeen Sports Academy, plus $56 million for new buses.
