Pittwater MP Jacqui Scruby has got straight to work as the newly elected local member.
Since declaring victory in the Pittwater by-election (21 October), Jacqui Scruby spent a month in limbo as member-elect while the NSW Electoral Commission completed the count and her win was formally declared. Ms Scruby wasted no time, taking meetings and preparing to start work on her first official day in office mid-November.

From the moment that I was member-elect, people from across the political spectrum, particularly the crossbench, reached out, sent congratulations, and started inviting me to meetings like crossbench briefings for instance, and welcoming me straightaway.
